David Garfinkle's Sensitivity Tour: Inspiring Resilience and Strength

David’s tour continued at Carlyle Elementary, where he met with Dan Laxer’s Media Club.
Inspirations News kicked off David Garfinkle’s Sensitivity Tour, where he shared his powerful journey with students at two Montreal schools. Through a candid Q&A and heartfelt storytelling, David inspired young minds to rethink resilience, strength, and the power of a positive mindset.
At Westmount High School, David engaged with the Leadership class and Leaders on Wheels, recounting the life-altering moment that changed everything. A simple fall while learning to surf led to a C4 incomplete spinal cord injury that left him quadriplegic. Yet, instead of dwelling on the past, he chose to embrace the future with determination and hope. His message resonated deeply, reminding students that while we can’t always control what happens, we can control how we respond.
David’s tour continued at Carlyle Elementary, where he met with Dan Laxer’s Media Club. In a mock press conference, students stepped into the role of journalists, asking thoughtful questions about his injury, the challenges he faces, and how he maintains his positive outlook. The room was captivated as David shared his experiences, leaving a lasting impression on the young “reporters”.
Through his openness and message of positivity, David Garfinkle is not only sharing his story—he is changing perspectives and inspiring our next generation.
